This is a blog where studnets will post ideas and responses to open ended questions. You will be graded on your responses to these questions according to the rubric given out in class.
The goal of this blog is to create a community of Spanish speakers and to serve as place where you can communicate with other classmates about topics discussed in class.

Tool #11 Reflections

My favorite tools your favorite tools I have now are Skype, creating imovies and google docs. I can set up a Skype account with a school abroad so that students can interact with native speakers.
No, there really were not any unexpected outcomes that surprised me.

Tool #11 Digital Citizenship

I would like to teach my students the idea of digital citizenship by teaching them how to access credible sources on the internet, how to validate sources and use multiple sources of information in their assignments. Students must also be taught about the following issues: inappropriate behaviors, freedom or abuse of freedom, protection of personal data and use of the internet for illegal purposes just to name a few.

Tool # 10 apps

There are thousands of educational apps available to educators. One of the apps I reviewed was Learn a Language with Michel Thomas. In this app students can listen to Spanish phrases while practicing pronunciation and speaking skills. Students can use the itouch in a variety of ways as well. Students can practice spelling words in spanish while learning vocabulary words using electronic flashcards.

Tool # 9 skype and Jing

Skype is an incredible resource in the foreign language classroom. Students can use their language skills to communicate with native Spanish speakers. This will give them real world application. Skype can also be used as a motivational tool among students.

Tool #8

El verbo ser

Direct Object Pronouns

I found both of these videos on Blinkx. I enjoyed browsing through all of the many online videos. I already incorporate many grammar videos in the classroom and am excited to have found additional resources for the students. Videos are useful resources because they present the information in a different format, and are often more appealing than the textbook.
